Rain or Star
Rain or Star, oil on canvas, mixed the paint with pigments, linseed oil, wax, and turpentine. 30x30cm, 2014
This one has a song with it, influenced by "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep" a poem written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Frye. Apparently she wrote it on scraps of paper and gave it out unsigned.
The song came about in Bermondsey / New Cross, 2013 and the painting in Woolwich, London, 2014. There are a few lines missing, but if I record another one with them in - practiced - I expect it will be more awkward. This is from a quiet Sunday in March 2018, five years on from when I first played it and some years since I last did.
